Astérix was the only male of our first litter...seven girls and one boy. He lived a happy life with Lorenzo who adored him but when, owing to his new job, Lorenzo couldn’t take care of Astérix during the daytime, we brought him back home.
Managing the coabitation of two strong tempered dogs as "X" and his father Sir, was a hard business for us, but at the end we succeeded.
Astérix unfortunately didn’t live long, but during the time he spent with us we could appreciate his extraordinary liveliness and the affection he felt for us. A long time has passed since the day he left us, but we haven’t forgotten him. He often came shopping with me and I miss the licks he gave my ears from the back seat of my car when I asked him: "X, give me a kiss".
My husband, however, was his favourite in the family. Was it because they often went to work together? Astérix was lying in a corner of my husband’s office, his eyes, hidden by a long forelock, were always vigilant and it was a feast when it was time to go to the restaurant!
He used to lie under the table without disturbing anyone begging some food but when waiters passed by their table carrying meat dishes a black nose came out smelling the air....
He passed away eleven years ago but we can’t forgive ourselves that lack of attention...just a moment...and it was too late!
